I personally use Trillian (when my laptop's not screwed up )
I like being able to have one program for all IM/chat programs. I even bought a copy of the pro edition (). $25 which works out at about £13, so well worth it
And ya know what now? It won't find the file!! Even though it's there!! I put it in the C:\php\ext\folder but the damn thing gets mixed up and confused with the /'s and the \'s so I gave up...

Can you guys recommend a good, easy to use client that I don't have to pay for.
Unlike mIRC. Stupid program I could swear this program used to be free!
Any recommendations? I'm a cheap ass student. Ok ex-student. But my ass is still cheap...
Try X-Chat.
Althought ist's a orginally a *u*x client there is a fine Windows port as well, I use it with sattisfaction.
Although the 2.4 version is nolonger free, you can still download it's soucecode and build your own with MS Studio or download the pre-build 2.10 version (wich i have).
(Ok this might seems strange, but the fact is that Zedd (Developer of X-chat decided no that the windows build would nog longer be free, but the source still is. So some other guy decided to make a Windows build on the freely available soucecode and make it freely availabe to the public)
