PHP calendar/ annual leave calculator

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to create an annual leave calendar, to manages holidays for a group of people.

I'd like a calendar frontend where users can pick dates, these dates are then emailed to another person to approve, and calendar updated appropriately.

Can anyone please tell me if there are any calendar resources I can use google, joomla etc?

Are their any tutorials on how to go about something like this?

I have built something in the past using PHP and Mysql, but I'd like to use OOP as a learning exercise.

Expect to need jQuery for pretty much any javascript resource these days (and even if you only develop javascript yourself, jQuery is still great for dealing with browser differences).

Making use of the selected dates, such as storing them etc obviously has to be added.
