    display:inline-block
comes in very handy for left to right items

    I like using float myself.
    Declare variables, not war.

yeah I should have said float for big or medium things, inline-block for those odd little items and it's less verbose than the display:table-cell styling

Meh I don't have anything against inline-block, though it does have some quirks in older browsers like IE7 (I think it only works for elements that were originally inline), but if that's not a concern then it's a non-issue.

I have a wonderful work environment, we support Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, and if it works in IE that's great, but we don't really care. That's because all our UI stuff is administrative tools for customers, not public.

I'd rather be a comma, then a full stop.

We're hoping here that once M$ officially stops supporting XP, we can stop supporting IE8 -- we don't worry about 7 at all any more.

We already have! We were going to wait until April, but my boss decided to stop supporting it for new websites in February (old websites are grandfathered in). We said bye to IE 7 a while ago, too! Imagine... only having to support IE9. Almost sounds like a dream.
