Does any body know a way of detecting whether a users browser has the flash plugin installed using PHP ... ?

Hi, I think Flash is a client-side tech and PHP is a server-side tech, so you need some code on the client-side to send the plug in information to the server.

There's no direct way of doing this. The client doesn't send information about plugins in a standard document request. You could use javascript to create a link or a hidden variable in a form that sends information about plugins, like flash, back to a php page.
