Creating extensions to PHP

Hi folks,
Could anyone point me to documentation on creating extensions to PHP?

I have a homegrown C library that I would like to be able to use from PHP and I've heard that there is a way to extend PHP to allow access to it....

Well, the only one article I know about it is in french, because I am the one who wrote it...

there is some code in C which creates hello-world style PHP functions. And some instructions about how to create static and dynamic extensions.
