unlink() not supported in PHP4??

hi,
i am running the latet PHP build (PHP4.0.1pl2).

and i am trying to delete the temp file after the upload of the file is complete with unlink() function.

but i get an error message saying:

unlink() is not supported in this built of PHP.

now, what is this????

I saw some other posts regarding this problem on windows platforms, and found that unlink was a problem myself, so I have since switched back to 4.0.0 and foregone the upgrade patches. 4.0.0 doesn't seem to have the same problem.

btw, the temp file is deleted automatically from your temp folder after the request is over. The main thing is to make sure you copy it to another location before it disappears.

       unlink -- Delete a file

       Description

       int unlink (string filename)

       Deletes filename. Similar to the Unix C unlink() function. 

       Returns 0 or FALSE on an error. 

       See also rmdir() for removing directories. 

          Note: This function may not work on Windows systems.

ah thanks!

i am running it on windows. but once i am done with my program then i will be uploading it to the unix server. this means i shall leave the unlink() function as it is, and ignore the error message.
