Persistent data connections

Hi,

I opened a persistent network connection with pfsockopen.
I want to retrieve the already open socket on different webpages.

How do I make that?
(pfsockopen always returns "resource id #1"... even if I open new
links on different pages, so it is not unique)

I started working with php and msql under linux about two years ago but now im experiencing problems because i want to connect with an Nt system running oracle server.I would be gratefull if you could suggest me a site or provide me with information about connecting to NT and retrieving information with Php
