select function

Hello,

if($a == 1){$w = \"yr\";}
if($a == 2){$w = \"mon\";}
if($a == 3){$w = \"day\";}

I have three functions,
abc_yr(), abc_mon() and abc_day()

How do I call the function based on $a
so that something like

abc_$w()

I don't think you can do that. Why don't you do something like this instead:

switch ($a) {
case 1:
abc_yr();
break;
case 2:
abc_mon();
break;
case 3:
abc_day();
break;
}

Or you can use a nice PHP feature, that is that you can store a function in a variable!!

The best thing you can do is RTFM about this, but I'll tell you that if you do something like this:

$func = "abc_" . $a ;

and then do the next:

$func();

then you are executing the function!!!! I find it very useful...
