who on earth will close pconnect() ???

hi,
i have gone through the manual on php.net, and couple of books i have (one of them is Professional PHP Programming). BUT i could not find anywhere, where it is mentioned to close the:
mysql_pconnect() !!

now, who is going to do that after you open it????? they all talk about that normal mysql_close() will NOT close it, so who is suppose to tell us that?

That's the point, you don't want to close the connection so it will be available for future use and therefore lot faster. If you are worried about this (for whatever reasons), just open 'normal' connection and close it afterwards... Persistent connections will 'die' after some time automatically, so there is no need to close them manually...
