get plain html from php ?

How to get plain html from .php script?
now I'm initiating connection to localhost,
e.g open(http://localhost/data.php)
get html ,save it on disk and use it for caching ,but its unefficient.
What's the proper way?

I am using PHP as development Platform for HTML, spares me a lot of time I usually have to spend for Administration/Customisation.
So first I start crerating a whole site in PHP3, then download it with wget.
And then use a shell script to
a) convert all links inside the files like "pagename.php3" to "pagename.html".
b) rename all pages "pagename.php3" to "pagename.html"

Add another type to your httpd.conf or whatever server you use so that .html or .htm files are parsed just like .php or .php3

Hint! add .html to the Types and save .htm for good old html or something.

All you need to do then, is to save the website as it is.

You can then also have all your hyperlinks as .html, and if you at any point want to keep the .php, it's not a problem.
