I am a novice and I would appreciate if someone could tell me the difference between IMAP and SMTP. Are they 2 protocols doing the same functions or they have to be together. I would also like to know how to make my php configured for both of those. If someone can give me a example. I know I need to change the php.ini.
I am using php4, Apache and Win 98.
I will be moving to unix server soon. In the meantime I need the information to do testing on my laptop.
