Display Results

Im new to this PHP lark - but learning fast🙂

I am dispalying the results of a query using the following

printf ("<font face=verdana size=2 color=FFFFFF><a href=\"%s?id=%s\"target=main>%s </a><br>\n", "game_view.php3" ,$myrow["id"], $myrow["name"]);

However this produces a variable amount of answers (obviously) which it should

What I would like to do is display the results in a fixed length box of say ten lines and then have the abilty to scroll up and down the results and then select

please note that I have not included brackets the "<" and the ">" as it will not
display properly in the forum. THE KEY TO THIS CODE IS "SELECT MULTIPLE"
Furthur on you can modify the code to embed mysql/php statements

eg
< option value=getfrommysql() >getdisplayvalue()

Thanx for the reply that works but im trying to make the references hyperlink compatible

So whilst it will show the details the
a ref=go_to_this_page_tag no longer works

your code is as follows

a href=\"%s?id=%s\"target=main>%s </a><br>\n", "game_view.php3" ,$myrow["id"], $myrow["name"])

check that you have %s in three places
while you are displaying only two variables
basically id and name. the proper syntax
would be on these lines --

" < a href=%s?id=%s > %s < /a > ",$myrow["id"] , $myrow["id"] ,$myrow["name"]

correct the syntax of u want to change the display parameters.

You could make it so that when you user selects something out the selectbox you could access the box's onChange method and then make the value of each option the link to whatever you are linking to...
(i.e. OPTION VALUE="$linkurl" )
then, in JavaScript...program a function for the onChange method and in the function set document.location.href (i think that is the object it might be something else) equal to the value of the selected item
this will help if you want to keep the idea of a multi-selectbox but if you don't then i don't really have any ideas on how you could do what you are trying to do....

Thanx for the advice ive nearly sorted it however when I click on the link the change is effected within my navigation frame how do I alter it to effect my main frame

heres what im using
