PHP_SELF returning wrong value

He's the topo :

usually, when doing :

<form action="<? echo $PHP_SELF?>" name="groupe" method="post">

from :

http://localhost/festival/groupe.php

the value of $PHP_SELF should be "groupe.php", right?

why then does it return to me "/php/php.exe/festival/groupe.php" ???

could this be a setting in php.ini? or something else? that makes $PHP_SELF behave that way?

I am indeed on WinScrap98 for development purposes :

php 4.0.1pl2 for win32 (cgi mode)
apache 1.3.12 for win32
mysql 3.23.x for win32

although the link seemed strange, the scripted still worked anyway though, even if it bothers me that the php_self var didn't return only the filename instead of teh full (virtual) path

Add:
$PHP_SELF = str_replace ($SCRIPT_NAME, "", $PHP_SELF);
to your page.
