uploading files with ftp_put

This is not a question of how to write the code for it, I know how to do that successfully. My question is I'd like to know why I can upload a file into an uploads directory on one form page and yet I can't upload a file on another form page. I've done everything I can think to debug this problem and haven't gotten past opening the file. And just F.Y.I. my website is on a hired host's server which is not on a dedicated server. Please help.

Well I solved the problem. I forgot to check the ENCTYPE. You can't upload files without it.

Do you have an URL so I can see your code in action - I am also trying to write a FTP file upload function - is it possible you can give me a copy of your code to mess with?
