POST in PHP

Does anybody know how to simulate a POST method in PHP ?
Like; I want to post var's to a cgi script that only accepts POST action,
(I allready know how to do a GET method, but that won't work in some cases)
I hope someone got a clue.

Hi,

I have the same problem to use Form2mail from a script. this damn perl only accepts POST ...

It seems that there is a library that helps doing this but I can't find it, it is quoted in several message on this site.

The only solution would then be to build the whole HTTP request and send it through a socket connection ... paintfull..

Please let me know if you find an easy way, I'll do the same.

It simply sucks, I'm not so good at PHP (my site http://www.webtoolcentral.com ) is PHP driven.
I found a script but it's like 20 Kb or whatever, there got to be a more simple script !
see hotscripts.com/php the url submit scripts use POST and GET ...
Let me know if we could use that !

I use curl sometime to do this (thanks matt!)
only have to prepare the data and then call curl with the url.

The way I'm dealing with this for now is to have my php script generate an html form already populated the way I want it and using javascript to submit onload. its annoying, it requires javascript be enabled, but it works.

But what if my php page has the contentype of a .gif image? For example: for creating a random banner.

When the .php (who says to the browser it is a .gif) get`s loaded, I want it to post a form. So: no HTML.
