Hmm, how about on the database side of things?
For example:
select * from where day > '09/07/2000' and day < '12/07/2000' group by day, site
I would like to get output like, this:
09/07/2000 http://www.slashdot.org 1213111
09/08/2000 http://www.linux.org 123111
But since the timestamp also includes hours, minutes, and seconds, you get instead something like this
09/07/2000 00:01:00 http://slashdot.org 1
09/07/2000 01:01:00 http://slashdot.org 1
09/07/2000 00:23:00 http://disney.org 1
09/07/2000 12:11:00 http://disney.org 1
as you can see, although this happens on the same day, they get separate clicks when in fact they should have had been assigned similar. I was thinking about forgoing all this and makeing time a string, where it looked something like this 2000.09/07
But that has problems
