Save me from these browsers

hi,
i am using php3 and mysql. i have a web page that is database driven. Whenever i add a new record to the database i want that to be visible in the browser. i am able to see the change in Netscape alone. In IE(4.0 or 5.0) if alone i delete the history i am able to see the changes. i have used sessions in these pages. Does sessions have anything to do with this. The changes or not visible in IE even when i close the browser and i logon to that page. I need a solution for this immediately. help me out.

You could use META tag in the generated page to tell browser not to cache the page. There are two tags available with the same effect.

<meta HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">

or

<meta HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" CONTENT="0"> in this case CONTENT is a date beyond which requested page must not be cached .
Setting the CONTENT attribute to a date in the past, or even to an illegal value of "0" tells the browser to always look for a new version of the page.

also - just double check your Explorer settings to LOAD PAGE EVERY TIME instead of once a week or whatever the other choices are. - also - your ISP may be caching content on you - you can test for that by accessing the pages via another isp/account.
