HTACCESS authentication

I am interested in making a pretty login screen for my administrative sites which are currently using htaccess-style authentication through apache directives. Is there any way to do this so that you can enter the information in a php form and have it authenticate for you?

Yes! I'm looking for the same thing. Currently I have a login box pop-up. I want to replace it with a pretty php form!
