"Warning: Page Has Expired"

I have built a page that includes a search engine that queries a database and returns a results page with links to specific content pages.

When viewing the content pages, pressing the back button causes the browser to display the following message:

"Warning: Page has Expired The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your information for you.

To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh button."

Is there a way to avoid this message from being displayed?

as far as i know this only happens in Netscape 'IF' you are using the META tags to instruct the browser not to cache the page.

you might have someting like 'expire-now' or 'no-cache' in your META tags.

if you remove them it wont happen again.

I know you are having trouble with IE, but I hate IE, so here's my 2 cents worth:

This kind of error also happens in netscape when the cache is set to zero.
Perhaps there is some "very usefull" setting in IE that lets you stop IE from caching cgi generated pages?

I couldn't find anything in the meta tags.

Using 'GET' instead of the 'POST' method on the html form action seems to eliminate the problem. But the url is extremely UGLY now.

If you find out anything else please let me know.
