Nope, can't help ya, doesn't work, tried it. The new browsers have all that kinda stuff taken out due to privicy (paranoia) stuff, I was hoping to do something like this myself a while back but after months of searching I found the only way one could do this would be to use a cookie on all the sites (like the big ad banner companies use) then you could track the user, thou this would require the permission of each site and would probably be nothing like what you wanted it to do...
Thou now that I think about it I think Java/Javascript can access such variables from the users system, since they are client side, and say using a passthrough script (like the one I used in an earlier reply for obtaining the screensize) one might be able to get these values... Thou most people might take offence that you're spying on them that much...
