special chars in text field

hi

anyone knows how to prevent this:

when i submit a form with value of text field of hasn't i got the following word written in the db (MySQL). So how to prevent this:

hasn't => hasn\'t

1. by ergi_replace-ing
2. htmlspecialchars doesnt work good

anyone has an idea

You need the slashes in the MySQL db, when you retrieve dat from the db, you would use stripslashes($str) to get a pretty version of the word with no '
