Using mail() to SMS

I made php3 file for sending SMS to mobilphones.
BUT, why is there a very long Message ID in the SMS on the receiving phone ?

This is the mailer :
mail($nummer,"",$message, "Fra $sender") or die("cannot run mail");

Besides that the SMS works fin.

This is the code for sending SMS. The phonenumber serie is for Denmark, so if you want to use it, you should first get the number serie/phonecompany relations.
It works fine, just the Message ID problem.

Is there any address for the philippines? Is it for free?

The code is very simple.
First you need to have a html page with a form. In that form there should be a
text field called nummer, message and sender. The action for the form should
point to the php file with the mail() function.
If you look at my last reply, you will see that first the nummer is match against
the list of mobilephone access provider. Then the nummer and the providers address is joined, and you have a standard e-mail address.
Then you use mail() with the nummer, messsage and variables.
The mail() function uses the smtp host listede the php.ini file (on windows).
If you have not set a valid smtp host, the mail() function will not send the sms.
For instance the smtp host could be smtp.12move.dk.

This method for sending sms to mobile phones can also be used with javascript.
But then you just use clients e-mail function instead.

How you get the e-mail addresse for the mobile access providers i can not tell you, since i only how to get it in Denmark.

mail( "[e-mail]", "The Subject", "The Body", "From: [e-mail]");

or
mail( $email, $subject, $body, "From: "$fromaddress);

Works fine for me.

You last mail says that if you write

like this its working fine

What about that ID? is it suppressed?

If the "From: [e-mail]" part is left out, the mail server adds one with your mail servers default e-mail address and somekind of ID, so that it can be traced back.

One service provide is sending
SMS without from.

How is it they are doing?

We dont want the from to be displayed.

I' am not sure on this, but I thing that if you have your own mail-server, you can leave out the from part.
It is because the ISP's don't want there mail-servers used for spam and such things.

In Denmark there is "no" ISP's that allow you to use there smtp servers without username/password, and if the from part is missing, they add one to the message.

Right or wrong, I don't know....

Message cannot be sent when "From :" added on mail(), Got any idea ?
Without it, SMS working fine and just nobody@... will replace the sender email address.

Company /Organisation : also work for normal mail but not SMS

i know that at least vodafone d2 supports sms via email.

Some mailservers are sensitive .... the "From" header thing won't work if its not upper Case: <br><br>mail( $smsto, $subject, $body, "FROM: " . $smsfrom);
<br>Didn't work for me until I changed to upper case.

Hi, if you haven't solved this problem yet... i could share a theory on how to resolve this.
Have you tried using the fifth parameter of the mail() function? if not, you should try supplying it with something (like a -f parameter in sendmail) (like: "[e-mail]").

like:
