validating spanish caracters

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to validate form fields, and I want to allow the user to insert any of the spanish caracters like áéíóúñ single cuotes and spaces. I´m using this:

ereg('^{[a-zA-Záéíóúñ} \']+$',$NOMBRES)

But it doesn't seem to be working for the áéíóúñ the rest works fine.

Any ideas?

Tell me more about it.
In my script:

ereg('^{[a-zA-Záéíóúñ} \']+$', 'á');

returns 1 (TRUE).

You should echo $NOMBRES to see, if it contains the correct string you want to test.
