How to use gd functions

I write a script program use image functions.
But it seems that there are some errors:
"Call to unsupported or undefined function imagegif() in test.php3"

why???

Did you compile PHP to include GD support?

If so, GIF support has been removed from the latest version of the GD library.
try imagepng or imagejpg instead.

You have to compile in GD support and I suggest if you want to do any font stuff complie in ttf.

./configure --with-gd --with-ttf --with-any-other-libraries-you-need

There are two possible causes of this problem :

1.) You haven't compiled PHP with GD support. The details are shown in the previous comments to solve this.

2.) There's one more, you even don't have GD installed. On Linux systems this could be a bit annoying, if there are no pre-compiled version among the packages,but you can manage to install it from source. As I think, source is the best way to keep everything up-to-date.

I'm sure you meant well, but... that post is over a year old, I think he'll have solved the problem by now :-)
