page expires

I am creating an application which uses 4.0 sessions. One of the pages returns a table of data returned from the db. If I click on a link, to drill down on some particular data, a new page shows the details. If I try to click back from this page, I get a "page expired" message. If I hit refresh, and resend the data, the table comes back. How do I stop the page from expiring? I don't want to have to hit refresh, if I hit back, I want the page to appear. Any ideas?

Well you can send an expires header at the top of the page you don't want to expire, this would usualy prevent a client from re-requesting a page.

header ("Expires: " . gmdate("D, d M Y H:i:s", time()+3600) . " GMT"); // Date 1h in the future.

Thou you'd probably want a smaller amount of time to go by before it expires, say a minute or so. The time format in in seconds, so it'd be 60 for 1 minute.

I've got the same problem. I've tried the solution with the header() function. But this won't work! Strangly, it just adds the header to the original Expires: HTTP header. If I look at the HTTP header, I see two(!) expire dates. The original (way old date) and my custom defined.

How can I override the expires header??? Has it something to do with the session handling settings/directives?

When I add this header to the top of my page I get an error: "Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent..." I need to prevent a page from expiring, but I cannot seem to find the proper method.
