without refresh

hi i have following problem:

i made flash page where user enters name (i will speak to him with this name). this name i can read into variable and send to php script (thru get url()) i would like to do this without loading other page to the browser or without refreshing intro page. i want only to write variable to cookie and let play falsh movie. can you help me? thank You. krajicek

zdravim, mam nasledovny problem:
mam flashovu stranku kde uzivatel zada svoje meno (ktorym ho budem dalej
oslovovat). toto meno viem nacitat do premennej a poslat php skriptu.
(cez get url(). rad by som to ale urobil bez natiahnutia inej stranky do
prehliadaca pripadne bez refreshu uvodnej. chcem len zapisat premenne do cookie a pustit dalej flash movie. viete mi niekto poradit ako
na to. snad by to islo cez nejaky header() ale mozno sa mylim. dakujem.

Aren't cookies you write immediate available in a variable even though they're not avaiable as a cookie-retrieved-variable?

Krajicek,

OK, why don't you just use Set Variable when the user enters their name. Then use Get URL when the movie finishes, you can then pass the name variable to the PHP script which will set the cookie.
This will allow your users to see the whole movie before refreshing.

because when user enters his name and closes the browser movie i can't catch his name. krajicek

Please confirm the exact process you want to go through.

ie.

User goes to your URL and is presented with a flash movie which asks him to enter his name.
User enters name, clicks on submit, then movie starts.
Movie finishes, then redirected to homepage.
Cookie is set and cookie value is used to personalise the page.

Is this correct?

cookie must be set when user enters name because he may close browser window
