How do i limit the number of record shown in sql?

Hi! Good day to all of you people!
Pls help me with this problem.

How do i limit the number of record being shown by php using mysql as a database?

I want it to show 10 records per page then show the other records on the other page...

just like this format...

1. raffie asdasdlkj asdasdas
2. asdasd asdasdasd asdasdas
3. qweas asdqweqqs asdaw123
4. 123123 asd123dq1 12231234

next page > 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

use following general syntax :

SELECT field FROM table WHERE condition LIMIT startingpoint,numberofrecords

startingpoint is record number
With above syntax, you can retrieve limited records per query
