Scheduling in PHP

Anybody know how to make a scheduling in a database system so that different articles can be published out depend on the shedule that has beed set. I need some concept and input from those who have done this before.

What exactly do you want to do, and with which database server? mysql, ms-sql etc)

Databases have no scheduling what-so-ever.
All you can do is use PHP to check a date field in your table to deside what to publish.
