Including a file?

I would normally do this using Servier Side Includes, but the hosting service that I'm working with on this site will not allow the use of SSI on their server. They do, however, indicate that PHP is installed.

So, is it possible to use PHP to call a cgi script so that the generated script results will be included in a Web page?

If so, how?

You can use back ticks to execute from shell and the back ticks return stdout

so:
$perlReturnData = /home/me/cgi-bin/data.pl;

sounds like what you are looking for.

If your cgi script returns can be called from a web browser you can also use:

fopen("http://mycgiscript.cgi", "r");

$text = "";

while ($line = fgets($fp, 2000)) {
$text .= $line;
}

fclose($fp);

echo $text;
