Session ID and Expiration

Hey Everyone,

I've got a problem, and I'm hoping that either someone's encountered this or knows why it's happening. I've created a shopping cart using PHP4 and PHP's built-in Session management function. Everything works fine except for one minor problem. For some reason The session will expire. Of course when you hit the refresh/reload button on the browser the problem is fixed and everything continues as normal. Also the session has been set, in the php.ini file, to expire once the browser is closed. If anyone has seen this problem before, or know how to remedy it, your comments would be greatly appreciated. Sorry folks. I probably should have included this in my last message. The error message is as follows:
"Warning: purged 6 expired session objects in ../application.php on line 56"

And this is what's on line 56 in application.php:
session_start();
session_register("SESSION");

Figure having this information would probably clear up some confusion my last message would have caused. Take care everyone.

Like you said, sessions are supposed to expire.
Otherwise, your server would fill up with session data.
You can control how long it takes for sessions to time out
using the php.ini configuration file.
