Quote a string with something other than " &q

Hi there,

Is it possible to quote a string in something other than quote marks? Perl can do this, such as:

$str = qq!He said "that's great"!;

and it's handy for when you're putting together a HTML string or something with a lot of quote marks in it.

Yea, use heredocs.

$var = "Sally";
$str = <<<ENDTAG
He Said "That's great"! $var did too!
ENDTAG;

usually when many quotes are involved i put them in single quotes as such :

$str = 'this "is great" cuz "<b>i am strong</b>"';

or

'this is'.$a.'"blah"'.$yoda.'hi "friend"';

but yes, i can see how such things could be useful and would be interested to know of such an option. also consider EOT :

$str = <<<EOT
anything in here
""""""""""<b>blah</b>"""""""
""<b>more blah</b>" 'hi
EOT;
