Coding PHP Scripts -Any PHP editors available

Hi everyone,

I have successfully installed Omni HTTPD web-server with PHP4 on Desktop PC with operating system Win98.

I have already tried out simple scripts successfully. Just like HTML Editors, Do we have PHP editors. If yes where to get them.
If no, how does one write PHP scripts. Is it using HTML editors.

I find that it is easiest just to edit locally on the server using pico 🙂
but my favorite editor in windows is called editplus, and has syntax coloring and context files for every language available.
In linux (X) i have also been using a similar editor called SCiTE. your milage may vary

it was color coded & lots of features to ease up the php coding work.

Editplus also has brace and parenthesis matching, something I find invaluable for debugging large functions, and which many Windows text editors seem to lack.

The syntax highlighting for different languages that Jason mentioned is also very useful. I set mine to highlight HTML and PHP in different color 'families' so that the PHP code stands out from the HTML.
