Hmm i've been out of PHP for a while but does anyone know how to say wild card. I'm trying to search for a a word within a line and I wanna be able to say if $line = "" . $text . "" Where the asterisk (*) is my wild card
There is no way to accomplish this through the comparison (=) operator. Perhaps, you should have a look at function stristr():
http://www.php.net/stristr
or, look at the function substr():
http://www.php.net/substr
lastly, go ahead and look at the reference for all of the string manipulation functions:
http://www.php.net/manual/ref.strings.php
Hope that helps!

Nope, those aren't gonna help, because they require you to know the exact string you're looking for. Instead, check out the regular-expression functions.
