Multiple word search

Hi all, I know this has been covered in the past, but I couldn't find a working solution for me.

Firstly I am searching a word using

select * from tablename where details like '%$word%'

How would i do a search for multiple word such as:

'hat pointy' or 'pointy hat'

So you could search for two words in any order and they don't have to be together as well?

So searching for pointy hat might find

"I had a hat that was pointy" or "Pointy had a hat"

Lastly,(phew) I would i then highlight this word from the result?

Theres a good search script at the PHP Script Exchange which is easy to adapt.

It does this kind of searching.
