I was wondering if anybody is familiar with the posix functions.Well I am developing a web based tool for people to upodate files and make directories.I can get their group id and uid using the posix functions but how do I assign them access based on the group they belong to.Like if they are in hr then they should not be able to mkdir in sales and vice versa.Is there anything in php that assigns access permissions based on grpid.And by the way chmod does not work.
