instead of opening the download box it shows the data in browser. Any clue how this happens ? Any clue how to solve the problem ?

Well, I don't understand why you're 'print'-nig the file, is this an attempt to make the file download? If you're trying to get the file to download, use the "Location:" header instead, and it should download the file without making the surfer lose his/her place on your page. You could also use the <META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="int SECONDS; URL="http://yourfile.zip">

If you're trying to print the contents of the the .zip file, there's a function just for that... but I can't remember what it is. 🙂

This needs to go into a FAQ somewhere. To force the browser
to download the data instead of displaying it, it's usually adequate
to use

&nbsp;&nbsp;Content-type: application/octet-stream

You can also suggest the name the file will be saved as by using

&nbsp;&nbsp;Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=xyz
