Hi there,

I found this interesting piece of open source web application for the production of an online magazine/newspaper. It can be found at http://www.technicianonline.com

I found out early on that this can't be used on a virtual hosting account, as modifications need to be made on Apache's httpd.conf file

Other cool features that could be incorporated are as follows:
1. Integration with a Discussion Forum app (like Phorum or vBulletin)
2. User Registration

Any info will be deeply appreciated.

I've been thinking about doing the opposite: integrating general content management functionality into my discussion system.

What needs to be changed in the Apache configuration? Is it something that can be accomplished with .htaccess files?

I took a real quick look at the code. There are some data design issues; some things that ought to be in tables -- such as section organization and workflow -- are instead hardcoded in SQL (enumerated). But that's not hard to fix.
