removing the last line of a file

Hi,

I know how it works with perl:

open (FH, "+< $file");
while (<FH>) {
$addr = tell(FH) unless eof(FH);
}
truncate (FH, $addr);

but is this possible in PHP too without loading the whole file into memory (in an array) ?

ftruncate -- Truncate a file to a given length.

Description

int ftruncate (int fp, int size)

Takes the filepointer, fp, and truncates the file to length, size. This function returns true on success and false on failure.
