Forced declaration of variables

Hi..

I have just started writing php code having come from a Perl background and I am finding it great....
The only problem is I used to us the comand 'Use Strict' in my perl to help me debug my scripts .. I found this very useful...

I believe it is the same as Option Explicit in ASP/VbScript...urgh..

Does anyone know if such a thing exists in PHP...

Yeh there are a bunch of debug settings in the php.ini file that you can set, as well some of these variables can be set using runtime functions as well, just look for the section "Error handling and logging" in your php.ini file. Duno if this'll do everything you want but you can set it to show all errors instead of just some, or none if you wish, which is good for a productions server because it lets you handle all the errors yourself in a nice clean fashion. There is also a debug setting as well where you can have php send all runtime information to a tcp/ip port for you to watch/log/etc. I've never actualy gotten around to using it yet thou so I can't say much that the documentation already hasn't.
