im makin a message board using files (not database) and i have to set my forum data directory to 777 for it to work. does anyone know how to enter a password and username w/ php to gain entry into a directory?
Search on here for htaccess, it's been explained quite a lot how to do this. There are a couple different methods that you'll learn about. Search on Devshed.com, too.
