No, the mail didn't. But I use an program on my linux that calls mutt - it's an e-mail client-server that sends attachments with a prompt command. You can download the program in www.mutt.org or any mirror site of redhat.
It works perfect, you can put in the php command like this:
$email=mutt -a <file> -s "subject" youremail@email.com < /dev/null;
