Free forum package in php

Hello coders:

Where can i find the best or a very very very good one forum package developed in php for free ??

I have see tforum and Phorum, they are very good, but i want to know if there are better packages.

Don't know if it any good, but have you looked at PHPNuke? (www.phpnuke.com -- i think). They actually give a software to maintain your own website. The package contains everything from polls, to frontpages, to news pages, to banner program. Maybe they also have a forum (i suppose they should).

I personally don't like programs like that where they combine everthing together as it is very hard to change html layouts, etc.

but give it a try. I haven't even touched it, but I looked at their example sites.

Depends on what you consider "better." For conversational purposes I prefer a linear organization of messages, with multiple messages presented on each page. See Prattle at http://stonemountain.yi.org/ for a working example. I have not had much time recently to work on it -- and I am going to be out of the country all next week -- but version 0.5 is stable, reliable, and easy to install.
