Sessions without cookies

What options are there to use sessions without storing cookies? I have a client who doesn't want us using cookies but wants session management. Any ideas?

You can use transparent session ids (trans_ids) to propagate sessions without cookies. This usually requires a recompile. Just do a ./configure --millions_of_switches --enable-trans-sid

and make/make install

Appending the sessionid to all URL's works. You then have nearly the same code as you would with a cookie.

When I do that and turn cookies off, it doesn't show the value of $PHPSESSID, do I need to to do anything special with the php.ini file to get this to work properly, also I am using files to store session data

Hi!

I have --enable-trans-sid but when I set ' session.use_cookies = 0 ' nothing works. Does anyone have a solution for that???

I had this workings fine until i turned cookies off on my browser, unless i fucked up the code or something, but now i can't even have session_start() without a "Warning cache limiter cannot be sent and Warning cookie header already sent coming up.

any ideas?
