browser-language detection

Hi there,

I have a multi-lingual site in English, Korean and Japanese. is there a code
in php that automatically detects what language a browser supports and
redirect the user to the right page? I've seen lots of code in ASP and Java,
but if theres one in php or if someone knows the code please let me know how I can do it.

You can check the environment variables:
HTTP_USER_AGENT and HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE

there is some information about browser language. However, the browser language is not accurate because most of people only set "English" as browser language. I think you can store visitor preference in the cookie and retrieve each time when you need it.

You can detect that with enviroment variables HTTP_USER_AGENT and HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE in most cases.

To see a list of enviroment variables that you use, run a php script:

it should find the PHPClientSniffer class.... excellent class
it detects almost everything including NS6, WebTV, AOL, Opera, .....
