URL Variables

Greetings,

Say a I have a url:

http://www.domain.com/directory/index.php?var1=val1&var2=val2

I automatically can use

var1=val1
var2=val2

but if I have this URL:

http://www.domain.com/directory/var1/val1/var2/val2/

how can I retrieve the variables and values into:

var1=val1
var2=val2

to be used by my scripts?

If I understand you correctly, you have variables that you want to strip out of the URL, not variables that are appended to the URL....if this is the case, you can use $SCRIPT_FILENAME to get the absolute pathname of the currently executing script. From that point, you can strip out the info that you need in a multitude of ways.
