Hi i have this form it's 4 pages long and i'm passing the variables between the page using php to fill in anything already entered when you go back and then when you go forward again, however the last page what i want to do is for the person to be able to fill in the page then either go forward, which works fine or go back however when you go back you lose the info as you have to go forward first for it to save the information before you can go back, my question after this long boring introduction is, can i have to forms running together one inside the other as it were, and can i get them both to do different things or is there anything else that you can suggest for this forward and back problem, i originally had a summary page were you viewed all the info before you submitted it however the customer doesn't wnat that! seems like a problem which you can indeed not solve. doesn't the browser keep the inputted variables in it memory?

Yes, by making two buttons ("back" and "next") they both submit the form to the next page.
if the $form["submit"] contains "next" then display the next form and if contains "back" then you just save the variables for use and issue a header("location: previousform.php") which will jump the browser straight to that file....

you will somehow have to make clear that they should not use the browser's back button. You could name the "back" button something like "save and go to previous step" or whatever.
