Could anybody explain or tell me to get info about these features, they look very useful but I can figure them out. Obviously I can use them to find \"b\" in \"abc\" but what\'s with this \"[asd]{1,2}\" what does it mean/do?
That will match any string which contains a or s or d
or which contains a or s or d f followed by a or s or d.
The square braces mean \"match one of the contained characters\". The curly braces mean \"match any sequence of x through to y
If you think about it, {1,n} is pointless, since a match for one instance of the pattern will also match any higher sequence. But {2,n} etc is useful.
If you have a *nix system, try typing
man 7 regex
at a console, for further explanations. If you\'re using Windows, search the internet for \"Regular Expressions\".
