Copying Text and Links

I'm interested in how I would go about copying certain texts/links from another page.

I want to use this on my website, say the main page, to automatically display (say the latest 5) topics from my discussion forum and links to those topics.

A perfect example of what I'm talking about is this site. If you go to the page http://www.phpbuilder.com/forum/
it displays the latest topics out of the respective forums, with links and all. How do I do this?

How would I go about doing something like this?

I think you are not sure what you have and what you want.
Links to the latest five topics inthe support forum:
http://phpbuilder.com/forum/
are genrated right from the database. In the database is stored the time and date of creation for every record and it is common task to select latest 5 records and to display them. From the beginning of your question I understood you want to select the topics and the links from another page which is quite diferrent problem. Please specify.

My apologies...

I think that you realized that what I'm looking to do is to copy text and links from another webpage. I didn't realize that on this site is was done using databases and such, I was merely just using it as an example (a bad one at that).

What I want to do is to copy the names and links to of the first five topics from my discussion forum.
