access front end for mysql upload?

Okay-
here's the problem..

I'm implementing a listings db for a magazine website. They have a large amount of data passing through their admin, and not the fastest net connection in the world with which to upload it to the site (mysql / php based).

Would it be better to get them to upload their data in 'chunks', working locally to get a lot of information entered at speed- before uploading in one go? There would only be one machine doing this, so issues of replication can be removed- but would MS Access be an appropriate method of doing this?

Does anyone have any experience of doing this? What would be the best way to proceed?

Essentially, I'm just after speed of data entry, which in their present situation means a local entry system- that is then uploaded.

Any ideas / advice/ wisdom would be much appreciated.

Use the ODBC funtioc in Ms Access...

But you have to download the MyODBC at

Http://www.mysql.com

When you have installed the ODBC for My SQL, you can link a Database or Modifing OnLine, or Upload... See ODBC Functions !

You could use local webserver and build a large text file with all the INSERT statements needed to populated the database. then ftp the text file to the database server and execute the apropriate command to dump the text file into a db i.e. (maybe) mysql $databasename < $textfilename

always a good thing to do, for larger amounts of data.
we are using access clients to generate data, and a html client to edit or modify existing data.

basically:
get myodbc
connect local access + odbc mysql tables to your .mdb file
1. work on local tables offline,
2. go online and copy local tables to webtables (write intelligent routine here for speed)

take care for data formats on both sides.
