SELECT box not working on Mac

I'm working on a project for a local company that uses Macs for their clients, and I ran into an instance where the select box is not working on one page.

Here is what I'm working on:
- Development Server - AMD K62 Laptop running Mandrake 7.1
- Production Server - Dell 1300 running Mandrake 7.1
- Both are running php 4.0.3pl1, postgresql and apache.

The clients I tested on are:
- Linux Mozilla latest nightly build - works
- Linux Opera beta - works
- Windows IE 5 - works
- Windows Netscape 4.7x - works
Mac Netscape 4.7x - does not work
Mac IE - does not work

The majority of the system works, including select boxes, except for this one page, and all I can see different is that the select box on this page contains roughly 2200 items, where all other select boxes are relativly small (2-12 items).

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be happening? Is there any suggestion on what to check? Any clues what so ever?

I found this posting while doing a web search for a similar problem. Although my project does not involve php, I have found that none of my form's select boxes are showing up on Mac. I am using CSS and suspect this has something to do with the problem. Did you ever find a solution to yours? I am continuing to research the issue.

I think it might be a capacity issue. Large select boxes get corrupted, so I had to develop a javascript option that when you type some 'search characters' into a text box, and hit tab, the select box will reduce to everything starting with the search characters, which reduced the corruption. It was a royal pain. I haven't had the issue where they don't show up at all, and I am using CSS for basic look.

This experience is showing me what a pain it is for getting truly cross platform, as you've seen in my first message.
